A beautiful beachfront location
The golden sands of Kotu Beach are something to behold when staying at Kombo, this expansive stretch of beach is the ideal place to relax whilst children play in the sand. Palm trees are dotted along the beach, creating a calming tropical feel. Locals ride horses along the shoreline, fruit sellers wander up and down and during the evenings you will spot local fishermen hauling in their catch for the day.
A brand-new pool
The ideal feature for families with younger children is the brand-new, expansive free-form pool. Not only is the pool area an eye-catching focal point of the hotel, but it also allows plenty of space for families to enjoy a quiet and relaxing pool day. There are brand-new water slides available too, a first for The Gambia! The perfect way for children to remain entertained throughout their stay.
Interconnecting rooms
A useful feature for larger families with children is interconnecting rooms, now available to book. This allows you to enjoy the privacy of your own room, whilst still being able to keep an eye on the little ones. Alternatively, sea view suites can accommodate up to 4 people.

During the evenings, fun and lively entertainment is put on for hotel guests, which is a great way for children to experience the culture of The Gambia. Watch vibrant dances and acrobatics alongside traditional Gambian music, the perfect way to end a day.
Craft markets and vulture feeding
There is no shortage of varied things to do in The Gambia and from Kombo Beach Hotel it is easy to experience many of these activities. With a local craft market next door to the hotel, it gives families a chance to enjoy the culture and souvenirs that locals create. Make sure to spend some time perusing the market during your stay, you will find some lovely items to take home with you.
With a great location next to Kotu Stream, Kombo Beach is also ideal for families to enjoy a spot of birdwatching, in particular the vulture-feeding display that occurs daily. This is an amazing sight to see, especially for children, allowing them to witness something entirely different from what they are used to!
Suzanne from our product team loves to return to Kombo Beach Hotel, as it is the perfect getaway with children. "I have been travelling to Kombo with my family for many years now. My children first went from the ages of eight, right through to 18! They have always enjoyed the interaction with the entertainment team, be it playing football, volleyball, darts and table tennis. Of course, the inviting pool keeps them busy, as well as lots of other interesting things such as evening entertainment or learning to play the drums or Kora. There is so much on offer and it allows us parents to have an extremely relaxing break."
