Welcome to the School Development Fund

As a tour operator The Gambia Experience has always contributed to the local community and have done so primarily through helping to fund the building, renovating and equipping of schools in The Gambia, West Africa.

Our school fund was set up in 1989 and together with the help of our clients, we have assisted over 120 school projects across The Gambia.

The school has grown rapidly in recent years and has had to build 2 new classrooms to accommodate the rising number of pupils. They have requested funding for 54 sets of tables with benches to furnish these new rooms.

Following numerous donations by the School Print Shop to the School Development Fund, they have kindly donated further funds to cover this project. On behalf of The School Dvelopment Fund,  The Gambia Experience and all the schools they have assisted  we would like to say thank you for their invaluable support.

Bansang Lower Basic School
Upper Fulladu West District, Central River Region

Funds awarded: £1,071

Following on from The Rotary Club of Boston St Botolph donation last year to fund the renovation of a classroom, they have kindly donated further funds to buy 50 sets of tables with benches to furnish two classrooms.

On behalf of the School Development Fund, The Gambia Experience and, of course, the children, parents and teachers of Bansang Lower Basic School, we’d like to say a thank you for your ongoing generosity.

 
Toniataba Lower Basic School

Previously the students, both male and female, as well as the teachers were all using the same toilets. Funds were requested to enable the school to build separate toilets for the 171 girls that attend the school and for the 17 teachers. Thanks to your generosity the new toilets have now been successfully completed.
