This impressively unique new 4-star hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach in South Kotu and we're delighted that it's now open to guests.

''I love the unique connection to water that you have at this new quality property and, with no children under 12 allowed, there's a sense of tranquillity and exclusivity too.''

- Karen, Product Manager

What we love

  • The beachfront location with all our rooms facing towards the ocean.
  • The pool front ground floor rooms which allow direct access to the water.

Good to know

  • African Princess is now open with 70 rooms; a further 70 will be completed during spring 2019.
  • A spa, gym and paddle tennis court are almost complete - watch the website for updates

A superb hotel with swim-up rooms

Water is a key feature of this hotel, with a network of eight free-form pools meandering throughout the property. Although none of the pools are private, the ground floor rooms having the bonus of direct access to the water for a refreshing dip straight from your private terrace. A further, larger pool is located close to the beachfront for the use of all guests, where occasional pool games will take place.

All guest rooms are spacious and offer a wide range of modern facilities, as you would expect from a brand-new quality hotel, and all enjoy a side sea view from the balcony or terrace. When it comes to dining, an impressive buffet will be on offer for both breakfast and dinner (subject to minimum numbers), with an à la carte alternative for those not on half board.

Entertainment will take place in a central area near the main pool, with a variety of evening shows as well as some daytime activities such as table tennis, perfect for those looking for a more active holiday. However, with no children under 12 allowed, the hotel will remain relatively tranquil during the day, allowing you to soak up the African sun, whether by the pool or on the sandy beach right outside the hotel.

About the Local Area (South Kotu)

This is a resort area that has developed over the past few years with some new hotels, and a small selection of bars and restaurants. There are a number of popular bars and restaurants including Lebanese and an ice-cream parlour on the road leading down to the beach, along with a couple of beach bars.

The sligthly larger resort of Kotu is across Kotu stream, reached via a gentle stroll along the beach or with a short taxi ride. It boasts some popular hotels, with Kombo Beach dominating the beachfront. There's also the quieter charm of Bakotu and the beautiful gardens of Bungalow Beach Aparthotel. The area also has a busy and boisterous craft market in which you can find batiks and all manner of superb wood carvings. Kotu has a number of good restaurants, alternatively Kololi with its wider choice is just 10 minutes' drive from South Kotu. There's also a golf course nearby.

A wide, sandy beach which is fairly flat and ideal for a walk either down to Kololi or across Kotu stream to the hotels in the neighbouring resort of Kotu.
