Our Guest's Opinion

"This was our 7th visit with two more booked. The location is excellent but the staff are what takes the hotel to the next level. Feels like home!"

- Mr Eykyn

What we love

  • The eclectic mix of art and sculpture, found within the suites, along with models of cows, penguins and hippos in the garden!

Good to know

  • The main pool behind the restaurant terrace is heated.
  • Special occasions are easily catered for, be it a romantic dinner in the gardens or a celebratory cake.
  • A wide choice of room upgrades are available, some with Jacuzzi, others with private plunge pool including the new Femmy Suite, with its own 7.5 metre pool and private decking.

The perfect night’s sleep

Each suite at Ngala is unique, cool and spacious, with several room options available, most boasting ocean views across the gently sloping lawns.

The main building was formerly a colonial mansion and houses the 10 original suites over two floors, some having their own private garden area. Peter, the proud owner, has gradually added a variety of different suites, while still retaining the sense of space and intimacy. For example, the Macondo Suites, some with private plunge pool, were added in 2015 when Ngala celebrated its 20th anniversary, along with a stunning infinity pool; and new in 2020, the exclusive Femmy Suite, boasting its own private decking area and 7.5m pool.

Each suite is completely unique, with many individual features and pieces of art, along with a small library. A range of beauty treatments and massages can be arranged in the comfort of your room on request.

Soak up the sunshine from a sandy cove

The tidal beach at Ngala is an attractive, sandy cove which can be reached via steep steps - a great spot for fishing or for enjoying a romantic stroll at low tide. A raised wooden decking area, complete with sunloungers and parasols, allows guests to enjoy the beachfront location at high tide too. This is a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxing evening drink whilst watching the sunset.

An exceptional dining experience awaits

One of the most enticing features of any stay at Ngala Lodge can be found in sampling the delicious dishes dreamt up by the chef team in the renowned on-site restaurant. The elevated restaurant, with menus created by a new and innovative chef for 2024, serves excellent food with daily specials, along with an extensive wine list.

A cocktail bar makes the most of the stunning vistas, and low-key entertainment creates an inviting atmosphere.

Due to the quality and range of dishes on offer, a high proportion of our clients choose to stay on a half board basis, which constitutes a table d'hôte menu with the option to eat à la carte, most dishes being at no additional cost.

Ngala Lodge is extremely popular, so early booking is recommended. Ideal for couples seeking peace and quiet, this 'piece of paradise' also serves as a memorable honeymoon destination, and is perfect when combined with any of our unique properties.

Green Initiative

Ngala Lodge has introduced filtered water in glass bottles as part of their Green Initiatives to go plastic free and help save the environment. All rooms are provided with these bottles; refills are possible upon request. However, they also stock up on regular plastic bottled water if that is your preference.
