There are so many elements to the hotel that are guaranteed to please guests of all ages, from the pool and sandy beach, to the daytime activities.

Relax and unwind in your room

The guest rooms have a light and airy feel, decorated using neutral tones. Set within three-storey buildings amongst the gardens, rooms range from standard through to suites. Their spacious feel is enhanced by the large sliding door windows, leading to either a private balcony or patio where you can sit and listen to the ocean. Guests also have a choice of upgraded rooms, including superior and premium rooms which offer a more modern feel with additional facilities. These rooms are very popular, so early booking is recommended.

Food, fun and entertainment

When the evening rolls in, enjoy a fruity cocktail, dine buffet-style or à la carte and listen to the African drumming troupe accompanied by dancers – or perhaps it will be a reggae band or bingo – each evening holds a completely different entertainment experience! The hotel offers two restaurants and the Barracuda snack bar, serving throughout the day and evening, along with three bars, including a wine bar. Breakfast and themed buffet dinners (for those on half board) are served in the Kudula restaurant under a canopy or around the pool, while a more intimate atmosphere can be found in The Brasserie with its à la carte menu and daily specials.

Set in the heart of Kotu

The resort of Kotu with its excellent beach is a popular, quieter alternative to Kololi and there are a couple of other hotels with restaurants open to outside guests, a craft market, beach bars and a small selection of local restaurants. A short walk from the hotel will bring you to Kotu Stream, a perfect spot to enjoy a variety of birdlife.

Steps to going plastic-free

In their first step to go plastic-free Kombo Beach has stopped the sale of any water in plastic bottles. Kombo Beach instead has reusable aluminium bottles available for purchase which can be refilled in any outlet with filtered water - and at half the price of an old plastic bottle of water. Restaurant guests can buy carafes of water for a nominal charge with their meal. Please support this worthwhile initiative.

About the Local Area (Kotu)

This is a resort area that has developed over the past few years with some new bars and restaurants now open in winter, in addition to hotel restaurants which are open to the public.

Kotu boasts some popular hotels, with Kombo Beach dominating the beachfront. There is also the quieter charm of Bakotu and the beautiful gardens of Bungalow Beach Aparthotel. The area also has a busy and boisterous craft market in which you can find batiks and all manner of superb wood carvings. Kotu has a number of good restaurants including the excellent Sailor's local restaurant which is along the beach. There is also a golf course nearby.

Beaches

A wide, sandy beach which is fairly flat and ideal for families, although not a very deep beach in terms of distance to the ocean. The area outside the Sunset Beach can change quite dramatically depending on the direction of the Kotu stream.
