Our Expert Opinion

"For anyone wanting to experience the buzz and nightlife of Kololi, I think this location is hard to beat. A short stroll through the gardens of Kololi Beach Resort brings you to the beach, why not try the classy golf buggy, an easy option to get home after a day’s sunbathing!"

What we love

  • The location of course, plus the flexibility of self-catering facilities – perfect for long stays.
  • The Superior Studios offer more space in which to relax, with a big balcony overlooking the gardens.

Good to know

  • The Kololi Springs pool and part of the grounds adjacent to the beach are reserved for Kololi Beach Resort members, however there is still plenty of space by the beach for Kololi Stones guests to enjoy.

A fantastic location combined with comfort

Combining comfort and convenience in the wonderful destination of The Gambia, Kololi Stones self-catering studios provide a great way to escape the colder climates for the sunshine on the west coast of Africa. Studios offer a good standard of accommodation and amenities, with garden or street views, a well-equipped kitchenette, en-suite shower room and a balcony or terrace.

A relaxing stay with amenities on your doorstep

There is a small pool available for guests to use within the lush gardens behind the apartment building, equipped with sunloungers and umbrellas free for guests to use, plus a bar area close by. There is also the option to enjoy the beachside pool and restaurant facilities of Kololi Beach Resort. To start your day, Salt Kitchen and Bar is open daily for breakfast, with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean, offering an excellent choice for lunch and dinner too. The lively resort of Kololi with its wide choice of restaurants, bars, shops, and vibrant nightlife, is right on your doorstep.

Excursions and activities available

There is plenty to do during your stay with a fantastic range of excursions on offer. Within the apartment complex itself there are several activities to enjoy with family and new-found friends including giant chess and darts, and even croquet. About the Local Area (Kololi)

Kololi is by far the most established resort area. ‘The strip’ as it is known locally, consists of a number of bars and a couple of nightclubs, frequented by both locals and tourists.

There are a large number of places to eat serving a variety of cuisine styles - you can get anything from an excellent curry, a Lebanese dish or a more traditional Gambian meal. There is one casino on the strip, not to mention a whole host of bars and clubs - all of which throb into the early hours, but may be quieter between May and October. The strip also boasts banks and exchange bureaus, cafés and shops. It is generally fairly relaxed in the day and really comes into its own at night.

Beaches

The beach outside the Senegambia, Kololi Sands Apartments and Holiday Beach Club has a strip of sand plenty wide enough for sunbathing on, with sunbeds and parasols just outside the hotels. At low tide you can walk for miles along the sands.
