Whitewashed Moorish architecture framed by colourful pink bougainvillea sweep down towards a golden sandy beach – welcome to Coco Ocean Resort & Spa. This striking hotel offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful green lawns, a three-tiered swimming pool and a superb spa. While for many guests, the main attraction of Coco Ocean is the fantastic spa facility, the hotel’s stunning location on an unspoilt stretch of beach just 2.5km from the lively resort of Kololi, as well as its extensive choice of unique suites, make this far more than just a spa hotel.
Comfort and rejuvenation await
Coco Ocean's eye-catching design elements can be found throughout the property, from the high-ceilinged reception building to the spa and everything in between, as well as an imaginative use of colour and light. Choose from a variety of guest rooms, all of which boast excellent facilities yet are all slightly different in keeping with the individuality of the hotel.
Set within tropical gardens, all the open-plan suites and villas are light and airy, but for added comfort we recommend one of the many room upgrades. There are four Royal Suites each with its own private plunge pool, with Royal penthouses above (a Royal suite and penthouse can be booked together for larger groups but are self-contained units). The 14 Club villas sit in two rows, with the largest private outside relaxation areas; but for the best location in the hotel try one of the three Beach houses, which are extremely spacious and are located closest to the beach. These, along with Club villas and Royal suites, have use of the exclusive, beachfront second pool which is flanked by cabanas.
The ultimate in relaxation
Coco Ocean's impressive 1,800 square metre adult-only spa boasts a serene and calming atmosphere throughout, where subtle scents of aromatherapy linger in the air. A steam room, sauna and ice plunge pool are also available for you to use at your leisure. Remember, Gambia Experience guests receive a 10% discount on selected treatments, so don’t miss out! Please note, children under the age of 16 years are not permitted to use the spa
Guests can enjoy a choice of restaurants on-site, and the resort of Kololi offers further options only a five-minute taxi ride from the hotel. Tempting menus featuring international and traditional African cuisine, as well as dishes from the new Thai kitchen, can be sampled in either the Courtyard/Safran or Coco Beach restaurants, one offering à la carte breakfasts and al fresco or covered dining with a backdrop of illuminated fountains and soft music, the other providing beachfront lunches. Fresh ingredients are used wherever possible, many from the hotel’s own gardens.
