Guests return year after year to the “BB”, an old favourite in an enviable position on the sandy Kotu Beach within well-manicured gardens, and one of only a few hotels in The Gambia offering self-catering facilities.
The main attractions of the Bungalow Beach Aparthotel, known as the 'BB', are the enviable position on Kotu Beach and the quiet atmosphere that can be found around the pool and throughout the well-manicured gardens. A peaceful spot for relaxation is not hard to find and repeat guests here are plentiful.
The apartments are arranged in two-storey buildings surrounded by attractive, neatly tended gardens. Each includes a small kitchenette with two electric rings, refrigerator, lounge/dining area and separate bedroom. Some of the apartments have views towards the ocean, which are available as an upgrade. A limited number of smaller studios without the separate lounge area and with a single bed are available for sole occupancy without the single supplement, these are located on the first floor and air-conditioning is not an option in this room type.
Breakfast at BB is not served in the restaurant but taken in the apartment by way of a welcome pack which is supplied on arrival and includes provisions such as milk, fruit juice, tea/coffee, cheese, jam etc. To supplement this there is a daily delivery of fresh bread. Although the room facilities allow you the flexibility to eat in if you wish (there is a mini-market on site), the hotel does have its own restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with an à la carte menu. You may also choose to venture out and sample some of the excellent restaurants The Gambia has to offer.
There is a limited activity and entertainment programme at the hotel, plus a choice of restaurants and beach bars close by, not to mention the craft market, Kotu stream for birdwatchers and the golf course. Therefore clients staying at the Bungalow Beach Aparthotel have a number of daytime and evening activities to choose from without having to stray too far.
