What We Think
An undiscovered gem to the south of the main resort area of Kololi, Bijilo Beach is a small and quiet hotel with breathtaking views. Situated on an unspoilt beach, the hotel attracts many repeat guests year after year, tempted by the tranquil, spacious gardens, welcoming atmosphere and of course the enviable beach location.
The hotel rooms, swimming pool and public areas are well looked after by the Gambian owners who take great pride in their hotel. The airy rooms are situated in two-storey buildings within the well kept grounds, and these are spacious and well equipped with fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer and telephone. However their elevated position mean you will also get a pleasant sea breeze as well as stunning views overlooking the gardens, beach and ocean beyond. In addition we can offer apartments, which have a separate living/dining area providing a more spacious option for long stays or families, with tea and coffee-making facilities.
The Bijilo Beach Hotel has one restaurant looking towards the sea, offering both table d'hôte and an à la carte menu. The hotel provides some evening entertainment in the form of local bands and cultural shows; and the lively resort of Kololi, with a number of bars and restaurants, is only a five minute taxi ride away.
This attractive, family-run hotel owned by Ebrima Bojang, who also successfully owns and manages the Cape Point Hotel, would suit couples wishing to relax in peaceful surroundings yet be within easy reach of a livelier resort. Due to its increasing popularity with both British and Scandinavian clients plus the relatively small number of rooms, we recommend booking early.
