What We Think

Very popular with repeat guests, this family run, well-maintained hotel is a good standard for its grading and is located close to the lovely Cape Point beach.

Along with the Bijilo Beach Hotel, Cape Point is very well managed by Gambian husband and wife team Ebrima and Awa Bojang for whom making sure guests' needs are well catered for is a priority. As a result, the high level of customer service and friendly atmosphere is definitely something that stands out here. Ebrima and Awa are constantly making improvements to uphold a high level of customer satisfaction: the reception area and the bar area next to the swimming pool have both been renovated and there ongoing improvements to the rooms within the complex.

All of the 74 rooms are comfortable and quite large and have the option to include air-conditioning for a supplement. The rooms are very well maintained and are of a good standard for this grade of hotel. Some have views over the small central swimming pool and sun terrace - the focal point of the hotel - and just a few steps away is the golden Cape Point beach where sun loungers and parasols are available.

For dining, the poolside bar serves good, simple food throughout the day and evening during winter. Continental and cooked breakfasts are also served here. This small hotel offers little in the way of daytime activities, with only low-key evening entertainment, however this adds to its appeal as a place to relax and unwind.

Those who like to explore will find that Cape Point has become a livelier tourist area with the opening of the larger Sunbeach and Ocean Bay hotels, and there is a craft market, supermarket and a couple of bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
