What We Think
A bright and colourful hotel, Palma Rima offers good value for money for those who are looking for a fun holiday, with entertainment and activities on offer throughout the day and evening. It is largely running as an all-inclusive hotel following the successful introduction in Winter 2011, however we still offer it on a half board or bed and breakfast basis, which are popular with groups.
The focal point of the hotel is undoubtedly the huge swimming pool and sun terrace. In between refreshing dips in the pool, guests are never short of things to do, with many daytime activities including tennis, table tennis, volleyball and skittles. If you want to feel the sand between your toes, the beach is a short walk away where there are a number of loungers and sun shades for use with a small charge; on the way you will pass Luigi's, renowned for their great home-made ice cream and a small number of bars and restaurants if you fancy a change of scene.
Located midway between the tourist areas of Kotu and the larger resort of Kololi, you are only a short taxi ride away from many other popular restaurants and bars, along with tourist shops, casinos and nightclubs.
If you prefer a hotel-based holiday, the Palma Rima is well set up with plenty of daytime activities and a sociable feel continues into the evenings, with guests being regularly entertained by local bands. The hotel has an informal atmosphere and also boasts its own nightclub and bar. The all-inclusive package offers tennis and table tennis at no additional charge. In addition, you will receive:
- buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner
-unlimited local or unbranded spirits (gin, vodka, rum and tequila), local beer and house wine, mineral water and soft drinks between 11am & 11pm
- snacks and hot drinks from the restaurant (limited hours).
The Palma Rima offer spacious, simple rooms located in circular single storey bungalows dotted throughout the gardens, rather than in the main building, which are smaller and available at a reduction. Each bungalow room has patio windows opening onto a small terrace - these rooms sleep up to 4 people and air-conditioning or fans are available for a supplement, payable locally. The hotel also offers a limited number of single rooms, which are compact and basic but available without a single supplement; these are located in the three storey main building next to the pool area and have no air-conditioning, however fans and fridges are available locally at a supplement, but these are not a cheap option.
Due to the size of the rooms, the children's pool and the lively atmosphere, the Palma Rima has proved a popular choice with families and is also ideal for school groups with the bungalow rooms providing ample space for triple occupancy, or even 4 sharing. It also offers a good value all-inclusive option for couples during winter - the hotel is usually closed from May until October.
