Recently bought by the owners of the popular Lamantin Beach Hotel in the resort of Saly, the Delta Niominka re-opened in October 2008 after intensive renovations, and is set to offer its guests comfortable accommodation and good cuisine in a spectacular location.
This unique hotel is situated on the Island of Dionewar, just a short boat ride from the mainland, at the mouth of the Sine Saloum Delta, an area of natural beauty and a UNESCO heritage site. Delta Niominka offers guests the best of both worlds with white sandy beaches bordering a blue ocean and the delights of the nearby rivers and bolongs of the Delta.
The spacious, comfortable rooms are set in cottages amongst the colourful gardens; all are decorated in a modern style although still very much in keeping with their African surroundings. They are well appointed with air conditioning and a balcony or terrace. Larger cottages are also available with telephone, mini-bar, satellite TV and DVD player; the beachfront cottages open their doors directly onto the hotel’s stunning, white, sandy beach with sun loungers ready and waiting for you.
There are two pools, one with a Jacuzzi, and the sunbathing terraces around both of the pools are adjacent to the beach with fabulous views of the Delta and beyond.
The hotel’s main bar and pool-side restaurant are nearby offering freshly cooked food and attentive service from the staff. The main, air-conditioned restaurant is also available serving a continental buffet breakfast and themed evening buffets, offering the best of international and local cuisine.
Delta Niominka has its own private jetty with a selection of pirogues and small sailing boats ready for you to enjoy some sea or river fishing, bird spotting, exploring or even just relaxing and topping up your tan whilst taking in the wonderful surroundings. Canoes and sailboards are also available for your use. The hotel has its own fishing centre, which can arrange personalised fishing trips, and a small fitness room, whilst the beauty salon offers a range of massages and treatments to those guests who want to just take things easy.
The atmosphere at Delta Niominka is truly delightful and it is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday, although with the Sine Saloum Delta on its doorstep there is plenty to see and do if you choose. A superb choice for those seeking natural beauty, peace and tranquillity.
