The Gambia's largest and best known hotel, the Senegambia is a lively family-friendly hotel set in twenty acres of tropical gardens beside a sandy beach in the busy resort of Kololi.
The large pool close to the beach has proved to be a welcome addition to the hotel's extensive facilities. It includes a central snack bar and is the main focus for daytime activities including water polo. Volleyball, tennis, organised games plus a daily vulture display add to the plentiful and varied activities on offer at this popular hotel.
If it is peace and quiet you are looking for, the original, smaller pool near the main building offers an alternative to the lively pool games whilst the gardens attract an amazing plethora of birdlife and are spacious enough to find seclusion. The hotel's resident ornithologist is on hand to provide tours within the grounds.
The pool terrace is ideal for relaxing and provides snacks and cool refreshing drinks. For a livlier lunch, head for the beach bar. Dinner from the newly equipped kitchens is served buffet-style in the large, main restaurant with an à la carte option available in the flamingo restaurant next door. A cash-free system is in place within the hotel and an all-inclusive option may be available in the summer.
The rooms include air conditioning as standard, and are equipped with telephone, television and mini-fridge. The option to upgrade to a studio with seperate bedroom and kitchenette is available. All our rooms are located in two storey buildings throughout the gardens.
Evening entertainment at the Senegambia is both varied and lively, including African folklore nights and themed buffet evenings in the Domordula, the hotel's main dining room and a weekly poolside barbecue. The large gardens are also used for private evening functions, weddings and live concerts. The comfortable air-conditioned Safari lounge bar is popular for a drink to round off the day.
