A quality, well-established property with excellent facilities and spacious tranquil gardens, the appeal of The Kairaba lies in the serene atmosphere and prime location beside Kololi beach.
One of the best known hotels in The Gambia, The Kairaba offers a perfect atmosphere in which to relax and unwind and continues to have a high level of clients returning year after year. The well furnished rooms, which are arranged on two storeys in a Portuguese style, offer an excellent standard of comfort. Most of the rooms form a horseshoe with views towards the ocean and beach over the beautiful landscaped gardens and central pool.
Guests benefit from a variety of restaurants to dine in. Breakfast is served in the Kingfisher Restaurant which enjoys a magnificent outlook over the mature gardens. The Malimbe poolside snack bar provides excellent lunches and occasional themed buffet evenings. Shikra, the hotel's à la carte restaurant provides an air of sophistication, alternatively there is a lively and informal atmosphere in the outside bistro, Casa Fernando's and coffee bar Havana Club.
There are no pool games or loud music during the day to disturb guests, croquet is more in keeping with the tranquil tone of the hotel although a few times a week there is evening entertainment around the pool area. Due to the quality and range of facilities within the hotel, The Kairaba is very popular with conferences and private functions for Gambian dignitaries and foreign Ministers of State, and caters very well for groups visiting the country.
We continue to base our prices on the deluxe rooms as we feel these rooms are more in keeping with our customers' requirements. We can offer standard rooms at a substantial discount, which other tour operators feature but these are not in the horseshoe and are located close to Casa Fernandos bistro which can be quite noisy in the evenings. Superior deluxe rooms with their large picture windows, and Premium suites with a separate double bedroom, always prove to be extremely popular, especially with repeat guests.
