President of the Gambia Yahya Jammeh started a tour last Tuesday "to meet with the people".
Speaking at a press conference last week, Mr Jammeh spoke of his desire to "speak with farmers and people in rural communities".
The "Dialogue with the People Tour" is a constitutional obligation while the Gambia prepares for the next agricultural season.
Mr Jammeh will begin his tour by visiting the road project Barra-Amdalai, funded by the European Commission.
He will also visit the training centre Chamen agricultural, the health centre Ngayen Sanjal and the training centre Community doctors Farafenni inaugurated recently and built with the support of Cuban officials.
Next Wednesday, the president will attend a political meeting in Kaur, before visiting a gardening project for women in the village of Wassu.
Thursday will be devoted to visiting a new police station in Bansang and participating in Gambisara to a "celebration of victory" in the Upper River Region.
The tour will end after various meetings on May 16th.
