New theme park in Gambia

28 March 2008

A new luxury amusement park called Dream Park is set to be launched in Gambia.

Dream Park, which is the first of its kind in the country, is located in the Tourism Development Area and will feature bumper cars and boats, self-controlled unidentified flying objects and a flying man ride.

A wide range of other amusement games and attractions will also feature in the amusement park including the happy express, a spaceship, a crescent swing, and a 'fighting castle' for children.

Described as "warm and inviting", Dream Park is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of the country's tourism industry.

The park is open for all ages and income brackets and also includes a modern restaurant, a sweet and toy shop and toilet facilities.

Mohammed Ali Aveshi, one of the proprietors of Dream Park, said: "It's like staying in an amusing, intelligent and stately home. The park is a perfect place for a family. Not every family can go to the beach for fun, hence a need for Dream Park."
