Gambia is just one of the countries around the globe to be considered in a brand new BBC series of television and radio programmes.
World On The Move, which started last week, takes viewers on a journey across the world following migrating species.
The programme is set to give the public an insight into Gambia's world famous birdlife; Gambia being a key spot where millions of birds gather every year before their migration to Europe.
World On The Move is one of the most important natural history programme ever commissioned by the BBC, aiming to increase people's awareness of the world's natural beauty.
It will track many species including birds, eels, turtles, elephants, butterflies, whales and many others across the globe.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Julian Hector, editor of the BBC's Natural History Unit Radio said: "We want people to revel in the spectacle of animal migrations and give them a real sense of the jeopardy, the things that can go wrong, that can go bump in the night if you like."
To help the team track species, three observatories have been set up on the south coast.
