The arrangements have been finalised for the Senegambia Tourism Fair.
Two delegates from the Association of Small-Scale Enterprise in Tourism (ASSET), Sheirk Tijan Nyan and Daouda Nyang, have just returned from a visit to Dakar to make the last-minute preparations, reports allAfrica.com.
The fair is taking place at Place De La Independence in Dakar from October 31st to November 4th.
It has been jointly organised by ASSET and The Gambia and the National Organisation for Tourism Integration and will be presided over by Alhagie Abdoulie Wade, president of the Republic of Senegal and Angela Colley, Gambia's secretary of state for tourism.
Sheikh Tijan Nyang, who led the delegation and is the chair of the Trade Fair Committee, said: "To develop tourism and indeed our whole economy along sustainable guides, we have to take into consideration, socio-cultural, environmental and economic principles. This is why this fair is themed under the motto."
The event will include a fashion show and an awards ceremony.
