Angela Colley, Gambia's secretary of state for tourism and culture, has emphasised the importance of good marketing in a speech delivered at Bailey's Beach Bar.
Ms Colley urged craft market, beach bar and boat owners to beautify their business environments, reports allAfrica.com.
Then, Mr Kaliba Senghore, the director general of the Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA) spoke, calling on those gathered to develop their premises and unite in their efforts.
He stressed the need to speak with one voice.
Mr Senghore also suggested that beach bars in the Gambia be modelled on those in Madrid, which each year achieve a six per cent increase in revenues.
The delegation was welcomed to the Banjul craft market by an artist beating his drums and singing in praise of the Gambia tourism sector and GTA.
Gambia Property Sales recently praised the Gambia as a "world class tourist resort" with its five-star hotels, beautiful beaches and excellent facilities.
