In Gambia News, the country is looking to develop its tourist traffic with the help of Nigeria, the Gambia Hotels Association has said.
The association, which represents all of Gambia's major hotels, recently set up a secretariat and gained a full-time office, the Vanguard reports.
Alieu Secka, chair of the Gambia Hotels Association, said: "The hotel industry in Gambia is mainly located on the stretch of plains mainly on the coastal part, with lovely beaches, seen as a paradise by many Europeans and Americans that visit Gambia. There are four main resort areas in the palm-fringed coastline, with long stretches of golden sands overlooking the Atlantic Ocean."
He added: "We cater for all, from the basic accommodation facilities to luxury products including the five-star facilities."
With regard to Nigeria's role in Gambia's development, Mr Secka said that Nigeria had provided technical assistance and offered a successful tourism model.
He also said that he hoped to better "manifest" Africa's many beauties.
