For the fisherman...

It is an angler's dream with a wealth of fish in both the rivers and the ocean. Many of the hotels have their own boats or pirogues and offer specialised fishing trips. More leisurely boat trips can also be arranged along the various rivers and inlets, taking you to deserted beaches or places of interest.

For birdwatchers...

The Delta will also not disappoint, and again many of the hotels can arrange special birding trips. Home to mainly sea birds and waders, there are also plenty of other species in the forested areas, such as hornbills, parrots and parakeets, and in winter it is home to millions of migratory birds. Places of particular interest for birdwatching are Diorom Boumag, the Reposoir des Oiseaux, Île de Bamboung and Île des Oiseaux, which are home to impressive colonies of sterns, herons, gulls and flamingos.

Trips through the bush...

Visiting local villages, can be arranged in a number of ways, either on foot, on horseback, in 4x4 vehicles, or in horse / donkey drawn buggies. Visitors can then take in the colourful markets, the local artisans at work, village festivities such as the traditional wrestling matches of the area or purely experience village life Senegalese style. A warm reception from the locals is always guaranteed. You can also extend these trips with our newly redesigned Senegal Tours.

Hotel Facilities & Activities...

Each of our hotels has a swimming pool with sunbathing terraces and some offer a selection of other sporting activities such as tennis, table tennis, mini golf, horse riding, kayaking, mountain bikes and pétanque.

Evenings in Senegal...

Evenings are generally a quieter affair, when you can enjoy a good meal and a drink at the hotel bar. Some hotels do arrange entertainment by local musicians and dancers in traditional costumes, which is usually a colourful, if somewhat loud, spectacle.
