The boat departs from Denton Bridge, cruising along the oyster creeks and meandering through the tributaries of the River Gambia whilst morning coffee is served – brandy is optional.
You may see local fishermen casting their 'jallo' (huge circular nets) or the oyster ladies in their dugout canoes collecting oysters from the exposed roots of the mangrove reefs. But for most people the real pleasure will be a chance to get a close up view of the aquatic bird life, from Ospreys to Yellow-billed Storks, Pelicans and beyond.
The boat is anchored in a secluded spot for the chance to have a dip and cool off before a buffet lunch is served. In the afternoon there is a chance to fish and relax before afternoon tea and biscuits is served whilst cruising back to Denton Bridge. There is a reasonably priced fully stocked bar on board.
