Ida Njai has spent the last 20 years working in the tourism industry and now offers cookery courses at her home in Brufut. The day starts at the local market buying ingredients before
pounding vegetables, preparing and cooking a traditional Gambian meal and finally eating the results with her family. The afternoon consists of taking tea and exchanging cultural ideas.
A really authentic day which is proving popular, please see below a quote from one of Ida's previous clients.
"A group of us from Leeds University visited Ida's home in March this year and learned how to cook fish yassa. It was one of the best days we have ever had! It was such a great experience, we looked fantastic all dressed up and it really added value to the day. The food was great and it was lovely getting to know Ida's family. Thank you Ida! x."
