Golf in The Gambia
If you're looking to stay active whilst on your holiday, why not try a round of golf on The Gambia's one and only golf course at Fajara?
The Fajara Club boasts the only current 18-hole golf course in The Gambia and it's a challenging and unique experience. The challenges arise from the soil type which is oil sand (don't expect lush greens and fairways!) and doesn't exactly provide the smoothest of surfaces for your short game, and also from the intense heat of the day - it might be best to stick to the early morning and evening!
But what the course lacks in finesse it certainly makes up for in character and experience, and as it says on the club's website, if your game turns sour you can always watch the extraordinary abundance of birdlife at play in the trees.
A basic round of golf at Fajara will cost 500 Dalasis, with a caddie costing an extra 100 Dalasis. You can also rent clubs for around 100 Dalasis.
