And so the charity “Nyodema” (which means “Helping Each Other” in Mandinka, one of The Gambia’s tribal languages) was born.
The festival has become an annual event and Nyodema now also organises a number of workshops and gigs throughout the year.

A celebration of world music and arts by the Sussex seaside. Live music, African drumming and dance workshops, craft stalls, African food and much, much more. Headliners, Kasai Masai, bring the traditional sounds of remote African villages with an urban twist plus the charismatic Magnet Man from Barbados, Sixfifteen, The Nyodema Drummers and the Nyodema Community Gospel Choir.
